Long-distance move from New Jersey to Florida

Liars and Thieves - Do not give your belongings to A Plus

Sign contract with Alliance Van Lines. On June 24th A Plus Van Lines arrived to pick up my items and told me they were contracted by Alliance although that was the first I heard of it. They didn't arrive to pick up my belongings until 11pm, when the latest time I could be out of the apartment was 5pm. The people who picked up my stuff where rolling my boxes down the stairs, as well as trying to shove my bedframe through the door when it was covered in my contract that they were supposed to take it apart. They guy then charged me an additional $500 for fees of issues that were already covered when I set up the contract with Alliance. Since it was then 12:30am I told him I didn't have any money except that half I was told to have for them. The guy then refused to leave until we gave him a tip. Since we didn't have any more cash, he made us download a cash app and pay him through there. I was then told my items were being taken to a warehouse, which was not told to me when signing the contract. Items were supposed to be delivered in Florida on June 28th. Emailed and called Alliance Van Lines and never heard from them again. Constant communication with A Plus lead to them telling me my items would be packed every couple of days until July 26th when my items were finally packed on a truck. Our contract was only until July 23rd, so now it is broken at this point. I was told it would take 7-9 days to arrive. On Aug 9th I was told the truck broke down in South Carolina and they were sending a second truck. Second truck was loaded Aug 17th. I was told the truck was in Florida on Aug 23rd, had to stop in Lakeland, Tampa, and then to me. I am being refused the information of the names of my drivers and movers (even the ones back in NJ), as well as the name of the manager, and they will not provide the information of the timeline of my items as they were with them. Everyday they say the item will be there the following day and there is no actual delivery date in sight. I have spoken to Jennifer Davis, Liz Rodriguez, Chris Winn (Wynn?) and Clare only. On Aug 27th I was told by Chris and Jennifer that my belongings were going to be Monday, Aug 30th between 10am and 2pm. I never received the 24 hour notice phone call on Sunday, Aug 29th so when I called on Monday to confirm I should take off from work (Because someone had to be home for the movers) Liz and Clare assured me that the mover would be there between 10am and 2pm. At 3:30pm I had already called 4 times, trying to figure out if the guy was even coming since I was stuck home all day. At 4pm they told me the guy was not coming, and that maybe he would be there on Sept 1st. Chris Winn (Wynn) proceed to tell me I was harnessing them, got super nasty when I tried to explain that I had just lost $226 having to take off from work and just hung up on me while in the middle of speaking.

It's now September 6th and there is no end of this in sight. I have been sleeping on a couch and living with the clothes I shoved in a duffle bag. If you want to ever see your items again, do not give them to A Plus Van Lines.

Long-distance move from New York, NY to Houston, TX

Stolen valuable items/unprofessional/delays.

I moved from NY to Houston. Inventory included a number of boxes. The movers lost or stole two boxes with my most valuable items (top of the line soundbar, and an air purifier), and then replaced them with two other boxes full of trash and food cans so that the delivery inventory was consistent with the pickup. The company did not assume any responsibility, nor did they provide insurance information, nor even an explanation. They simply directed me to a third party claim manager. And this was just the main issue, other complications occurred.

Long-distance move from Stamford, CT to Tampa, FL

Great move.

Fortunately aplus van line was the way to go. I recieved a call the day prior to the move date from my condo in Conn. , I was given a time for pick up and they made it prior to the time. Was so happy with service and as far as the belonging like wardrobe and couches to be packed and wrapped so professionally that I knew my belonging would make it to there destination intact and complete. As far as delivery that was also prompt to the dat wand time aswell. I would recommend them again because there pricing was also fair compared to my last move 3 yrs prior.

Long-distance move from Washington DC to Texas

Stay Away! Worst Experience.

I recently moved from Washington, DC to Austin, TX, Despite paying extra to have A Plus Van Lines pack my move (my move was almost $5k), many of my items arrived damaged and destroyed. This weeks late and waiting, the company was unresponsive to my inquiries about my things. The whole experience was uncomfortable. At first they seem great because they are cheap but they cost you in the end and the people your work with are rude and do not care about their customers or making things right.

Long-distance move from New York, NY to Miami, FL

By far the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of using

I felt abused and taken advantage of from start to finish. They broke so much of my stuff and lost a bunch of things too.  I was lied to on multiple occasions.  The guy's who came to package and take my belongings were rude and aggressive, and as a woman who was by herself I felt very intimidated, especially by the person who was supposed to be in charge.  Once they had loaded everything on the truck he tried to tell me that the price I had negotiated for storage was wrong and it would be 10x what they had originally said,  I ended up having to call the office and get them to agree on a lower price but it was still way higher than we have originally agreed upon.   Then came the time when I wanted it delivered to me,  I told them the date I wanted it, but they showed up a week early and said I just had to take it, even though my apartment was not ready.  Luckily for me my landlord was very understanding and accommodating otherwise I would have ended up with it being dumped on the street.  Most of the large pieces of furniture were damaged or broken, and we lost a bunch of things too.  Which is not surprising when you see how they pack your stuff.  The guy's delivering it were beyond unprofessional, which is not surprising when you find out they were found on craigslist and not professional movers at all.  They were supposed to put the furniture back together but instead they told us they were going on a break and just drove off,  leaving us with furniture pieces all over the place, even though that is part of the service we paid for.  They also left a couple of very heavy pieces of furniture in the wrong room, that were way too heavy for me to move.  When I called the company the next day the manager refused to take my calls or return them.  I really don't know how they can get away with treating their customers so badly, Its criminal.  This company should not be allowed to operate.

Long-distance move from Paramus, NJ to Fort Lauderdale, FL

Great Company.

I was a little hesitant at first as all my previous moves have been done by the big Van Lines like Mayflower or Allied. That was back when my company was paying though. Now that I can't afford the Louis Vuitton of movers I decided to find a smaller company with a more competitive price. That's when I found A Plus. I have to say that the level of service is completely up to par with the big guys if not better. I got a more personal type vibe from them. The move itself was great. The movers were professional and did a great job on both pick up and drop off.
I would definitely recommend.

Local move within Florida

Great Overall Service.

I hired them after getting their information on Home Advisor. The person I spoke with was knowledgeable and walked me through the whole process. On the day of the move everything went according to plan, the foreman was great and so were the other men. On delivery only 2 of the men were the same but they were the two "leaders" of the crew so everything was smooth. I would definitely use again.

Long-distance move from Delaware to Florida

Great Move from DE to FL.

I found these guys on Home Advisor. After speaking to the agent and getting an estimate then comparing their pricing with a few others I decided to move forward.
I made the right decision. The crew that came out was very courteous and efficient. They all spoke English which made communicating with them much easier than my last move.
Delivery was about 4 days later and the same foreman and his assistant were there in Florida as well. Which made things a lot easier. Very satisfied.

Long-distance move from Brooklyn, NY to Miami, FL

They brought half of my stuff, charging more..

I had a very bad stressful experience with this company, which ended up with me calling police. They brought just half of my stuff from New York to Miami and charged me 500 extra dollars with no reason.

First the communication was great, they were very respectful, responsive and they have so many good reviews (I don't know why). But once my stuff were on the truck, or actually half of the list, the guy told me I was over the limit and had to pay extra money in cash. I called the agent who gave me the price and in the company they said he was not there and that they were just a broker company, so they couldn't help me.

When I wanted to take my stuff out of the truck, a nice lady called me saying that she would take care of everything from now on, so I didn't have to worry for the extra money, because she'll fix it.

The truck left with very important belonging (more than 15,000 probably in cost and things with very high emotional value). A moving that was supposed to take three to five days, ended up taking more than two weeks. (I was not in a rush, but after the weird first experience, I was so worried to trust my stuff to them, so I started getting anxious).

The lady who was supposed to take care of the overcharge, waited until the last day to call and tell me they would charge the extra 500 dollars anyways and I had to pay with cash or they wouldn't deliver my stuff.

Of course I accepted to pay, my things were in their position, but once the truck was here, they asked me to pay 900 dollars in cash, saying that if I don't pay, they wouldn't open the truck.

I called 911 even they threatened me with leave with my stuff. Police came and they showed some paper signed by me, saying I had to pay in advance. (They ask you to sign and fill many papers, so you don't have time to read them). The police couldn't do much more than staying with me until they put my stuff out of the truck after I paid.

My stuff finally arrived, but half of them stayed in NY.

Long-distance move from Brooklyn, NY to Alpharetta, GA

Awful. Beyond Awful. A Scam.

This was the worst move I have ever had. We did not even hire this company. Fell for a scam that involved a broker , Alliance Van Lines, posing as the mover. They quoted 3400; day before the move got a call from A Plus saying they were the mover. Didn't have time to get different movers as the lease ended in 3 days.

With us hostage they then quoted a price of 5200. We paid it. Then when they arrived (6 hours late) in Georgia they wanted another 300. So we paid 2100.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE or ALLIANCE VAN LINES.
